Horrible experience! Breathless Punta cana Xhale Club

We were expecting a beautiful place with exceptional rooms and nice views(as shown in the pictures) with all the VIP upgrades that I paid for. Instead we had a room with strong mold odor. I was taken to 6 different rooms, all had MOLD issues. I was told it was the time of the year and there was high humidity. The smell in the last room was somewhat tolerable and we didn't have more choice to stay in this one. Our concierge (Jose), brought air cleaners to help with the smell. we Lysol and opened doors to air the room. I made many attempts to call concierge line, but every single time we were put on hold, after an hour tired of waiting I decided to walk down to the Exhale Club which s the VIP club and finds a concierge that helps us find the room. We just tried to stay out of our room as much as possible just not to deal with the feeling of being sick and nauseous on a vacation we had planned and saved to go for a year. We starting speaking with other patrons only to hear they were having the same exact issues and they were told all the rooms were booked. Never the less we ended up coming home sick congested and more tired than when we went. I paid EXTRA for the VIP EXHALE and it was a total scam. AS a loyal card member for many years I hope capital One will step up and fight for their customers unlike how we were treated while we were there. The resort was at the most a 2 and a half star and was falsely advertising 5 stars. There wasn't a single guest we spoke to who was pleased or satisfied with the way we're treated or the accommodations given to them. We were told with the EXHALE VIP package there would be premium liquor (NOT) food was at the best Golden Corral buffet style with bad food and terrible service. Whoever is reading this letter DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT!! OR YOU WILL BE STUCK IN A third world country afraid to cause to many waves like if your room is infested with mold or any other horrible scenarios. They didn't even have orange juice or cranberry juice, only orange sodas I mean really? 5 star THIS WAS A TOTAL SCAM. Realistically I should be demanding every penny I spent returning not just $850. This was a vacation from *** We were even forced to leave the concierge a good review because he kept pressuring us every single time we ran into him. It was very uncomfortable especially since we heard from another patron that a woman had been raped on the property by a staff member while we were there and my wife was begging me not to cause any issues complaining any longer. We were at some point afraid to complain anymore because we are stuck in a third world country, where we don't speak the language, we don't know anybody. We didn't want to risk our lives, so we decide to stay and thankfully we are back in the US safe. The whole experience was a disaster! Xhale didn't deliver to us what they offer, that was: -access to two private xhale club pools as well as a pool concierge and bar service. Upgrades like: jacuzzi on a private balcony. upgraded mini-bar and room service menus. upgraded bath amenities and even a pillow menu! upgraded access to a private restaurant for breakfast and lunch, afternoon hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, exquisite desserts, fine liquors in the lounge and a complimentary newspaper in suite daily upon request. we DIDN'T received ANY of this Upgrades or Xhale services! We don't understand how this place is rated almost 5 star on BOOKIT.COM, is completely FALSE!

Horrible experience!

I have booked a honeymoon trip for my son to Punta Cana. With the recent deaths we are not willing to risk it. On top of the fear of going we have found out that major renovations are going on in our resort. All the extras we paid for will not be offered. I have spend the last week on the phone and have no answers !!!! I believe my attorney will have to her involved if they are not willing to work with us.

Bookit ripped me off and im going to do whatever it takes to get my money bsck

I booked for my whole family .. last sept. 12 of us .. To nickelodeon in DR .. total cost $20,000.00 .. I lost my Son in law last yr . And we needed to regroup as a family and this trip was also a retirement/40th anniversary celebration. Well that went out the window with thousands of my hard earned money.. all of a sudden they split up my trip (,which was also a pkg) and deemed 700 plus as airfare so the held almost 8000.oo total on that and gave me back the rest less the 25.oo pp which i was fine with. I knew it was NOT 700 pp to fly because children stayed free and i screenshot the breakdown which brought me to the total per family.. i paid 500 and change per child which I'm assuming is the same price for adult since airlines only charge per seat not age. So they held that ridiculous amount but after 3 hrs on hold i needed to cancel so could to save something .. we tried to book aruba or st lucia which airfare would have been around 700 pp but everything was booked up.. we ended up renting a home in Orlando and i bought a week pass for universal.. all on which i did directly on my own.. i still had the airfare to deal with and i was literally feeling ill thinking of what i needed to go through to even speak to bookit.. i called united directly.. i spoke to an amazing lady who tried to help .. though she couldnt completely take care of this, she did give all 12 of us seats to Orlando which she put on the same bookit reservation number so when they pull it up they only had to do the payment.. she also told me she noted her name all over it and waved the cancellation fee. She also gave me the exact price for each seat.. after 2hrs and 40 mins to call the ticket dept at bookit. I spoke to someone i hardly could understand. he said that the florida tickets are the same price as the DR. And its a even swamp no credit. Or he can cancel what united did and give me the tickets himself but he said he might not be able to get us all on the same flight.. i was out up against the wall.. i took the assigned seats.. BUT I'M NOT DONE WITH THEM. I lost thousands and i will go after my money once i recoup from the last dealing.. they will not get away with this!

Do not book with book it.com

This was my first time using book it.com. If your thinking about using them for a trip don’t walk but run! I used them to book my first wedding anniversary, less than one month before I am suppose to leave, they send me an email stating they are completely changing my resort! When I called customer service for a further explanation, I continue to get attitude and hung up on. Seemed like no one wanted to help me with this change of plans. I ended up having to call the corporate office and even then, nothing was done about my issue, not even a room upgraded, absolutely nothing! Do not book with this company would be my advice, because they could could less about their customers.

Construction at hotel during stay.

I arrived to jack hammering at the resort. Was told that Bookit should have informed me prior to my trip. Called them from Mexico. Was cut off. Called them twice since I’ve been home and still no resolution. Jack hammering went in for 5 days 10am to 7pm. Not a peaceful vacation.

Duped

Tried booking trip to Jamaica, website was not giving me correct flight info so decided to call agent. Tried using my Visa card, was told it was not going through so gave her my Discover card which went through, low and behold they charged both cards totalling over 17k..totally fraud...do not use Book it, should be call Crookit

Ripped off

Book it charge me $75 per person for cancellation which added up to $150 for the six of us. it had only been one week since I had started the payment plan for Bahia resort. Smh there getting rich off of cancellations. I don’t why why I can’t be sued for ripping people off people work hard for there money. Ridiculous Time to get lawyers involved

Unable to get a refund or flight ticket name changed

I booked a trip to Cancun, Mexico about half a year ago for me and a friend. Its not until July, so 4 months from now. Well turns out my friend wont be able to make it on the trip. I called bookit.com's agents and they tell me that I can not get a refund from the plane ticket, which is absolutely fine, however I did not wish to cancel it, I wanted to switch the name of the person going with me on the trip to another person who is able to accompany me so that I can at least still find use for the money I paid. Agent stated I can't change the name on the ticket either, so what am I suppose to do? Let you guys keep $400? Completely unreasonable. I paid over $2,000.00 for this trip, I need either a refund or for the name to be changed on my companions ticket.

Your original idea of doing it the simple way no longer applies in this brave new world of governmental regulation---all for your own good of course. Take the advice of Anonymous below. It is your only option.

You wouldn't get that from an airline either. You are going after payment from the wrong place.

Your friend needs to pay you for the ticket.

It belongs to them now. Then they can try to switch dates, usually for a fee, and use it somewhere else.

This is absolutely true. No airline will change names. It’s a security clearance thing.

Customer Service Representative

The customer service representative, Garfield is does not appear knowledgeable of bookit policies and does not eloquently convey information. I've spoken with other representatives and the information he keeps giving me conflicts. I'm becoming extremely upset at the outrageous options he is attempting to provide me with.

Heartless company

I purchase a full FAMILY vacation package from them (Round Trip, and hotel). At arrival Hotel charge me extra money, saying that prices in their website are inaccurate. The biggest surprise came when taking our flight back, the flight back was canceled, and BookIt nor the airlines notify me. Airlines didn't wanted to help me because i didn't purchase the flight from them. BookIt was also unwilling to help me because it was not their fault the flight was canceled. Spent almost 8 hours with a crying toddler at the airport calling airlines and BookIt to see if they can help me in any way. FUNNY!!! It was just awesome how easy the transaction with BookIt went when making the purchase over the phone, but it was pathetic and frustrating how many times the phone "ACCIDENTLY" got disconnected, and had to repeat my story every time I called because there was a new monkey answering the phone. A little brake came after the airlines was willing to give me the next flight to my destination for free but I had to wait for 2 days. With a credit card almost at it's limit I couldn't go back to the hotel, so I ask for accommodation for me and my family for the 2 waiting days. The airlines did very little to help me (but it's was something), on the other hand on my 8-hours of frustration, for the first 6 hours BookIt employees refuse to transfer my call to a supervisor, and when it was finally transferred a heartless BookIt employee deny any help, leaving my family and me to figure it out by our own.

Bad service

I made a reservation for august 18th. to august 22nd. to Virginia beach (con. #151104****42). Went to check in an no reservation. Call bookit and they say sorry for the mixup. They said it will be set up form Sunday, in the mean time I'm left without a room for that night and everything sold out for that night. I looked for a couple of hours and nothing. I'm 70 years old an had to sleep in the car after driving 13 hrs. and not being able to get a room till the following day after 2 o'clock. The worth experence I ever had. Needless to say I'll Probably never use your services again. Hope after this you be more careful so this doesn't happen to someone else. Thank you
